Day #3 - Diamond Head and the Beach - Dad

Against Jake's wishes, we woke up early to go climb a mountain.  We were told to get to the top of the mountain by 7:30 to see the sunrise, we did but sunrise is closer to 6:30 am.

We made the long trek up the mountain.  During the walk, we sang various songs.  We sang so much that the person behind us decided to join in by playing "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus for us to sing along to for the trip.  Other songs included "Up in Here" and "Standing on Top of the World".  It was a great journey.  Especially when we decided to break the rules and ignore the signs.

That's us going right by the sign that says End of Trail.  An elderly gentleman by the name of Richard basically dared us to go over to that area.  We had to take him up on the challenge.  It made the journey even more exciting.  It is truly a good life and MJ has the pictures for the custody battle that I took the kids into restricted areas.  While the judge will award her the kids, thety would prefer to be with me - see tomorrow's blog entry.

Next up was the vacation pitch.  We received free breakfast and $175 at the Polynesian Cultural Center for 2 hours of our time.  Well worth it.  The first question was where is your dream vacation - MJ's answer was Bora Bora which threw the girl for a loop because they do not have a resort there.  Therefore, she knew that she was not going to make the sale.  But we still got free food and a discount so all was well.

Next up, we went a a different beach - White Sands Beach.  It was the most beautiful beach we have ever been to.  There are no rules at this beach - thongs, pets, alcohol, no lifeguards.  It was crazy - but crazy fun.  Jake did not feel well so he laid down in the shade.  Luke used his Bogie Bopard and just played in the surf.  It was the softest sand that extended far into the ocean with islands out in front of you.  It was truly a magical place.

MJ and I went out to dinner alone that night and walked around while the boys ate Papa John's - a slice of home.    Jake bought a new magic trick and practiced taking off his finger.  Luke just loved walking around and enjoying the ammenities of the hotel.
